Description

We are currently looking to support our client – a leading UK solutions provider operating across the natural gas, petrochemical, biomethane and decarbonisation sectors.

They are looking for an E,C&I Engineer to join their Engineering department on a permanent staff basis at their custom built, modern workshop facility in Staffordshire. This will be a full-time hours role working Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm.

A full description is given below but candidates should have a minimum HND qualification together with at least 5 years relevant working experience. They must also be ready and willing to mentor junior engineers within the team.  Candidates will work alongside CAD Operators, and other engineers for various needs such as costing. The client deals with state of the art technology creating bespoke materials and products so candidates will need to be innovative open to creating solutions for new challenges. They will require ATEX experience and previous natural gas project experience. Prior experience working for the national grid, Cadent would be beneficial.

A competitive annual salary figure is on offer – 34-54K per annum - negotiable for candidates with additional oil and gas project experience. EC&I Design Engineer - What is the role?

As an EC&I Design Engineer within our ranks, you will play a pivotal role in reshaping the landscape of the gas sector while advancing your own professional journey.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Devise, design, and deploy cutting-edge EC&I solutions ensuring compliance with industry standards such as explosion protection concepts (ATEX, Intrinsically Safe circuits).
  • Collaborate seamlessly across interdisciplinary teams to integrate EC&I solutions within broader sustainability initiatives.
  • Tackle intricate technical challenges tied to instrumentation and control systems while ensuring their alignment with industry standards.
  • Contribute to project proposals, estimating costs, and establishing realistic timelines for successful project execution.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, applying them judiciously to amplify project efficiency and efficacy.
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, nurturing their growth as future sustainability leaders.

 

EC&I Design Engineer - Requirements

  • Minimum of HND in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in conceiving and implementing advanced electrical and control systems, specifically with a background in ATEX equipment and intrinsically safe circuits.
  • Astute analytical and problem-solving expertise with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication aptitude for effective collaboration across teams and for presenting intricate technical insights.
  • Agility in adapting to evolving project requisites and performing well under pressure.
