We are currently looking to support our client specializing in mechanical work, installations, automation, and constructional steel work – with a requirement for a Project Manager. This will be a permanent staff role based out of a head office in Greater Manchester but involving nationwide travel to client and site locations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects within the mechanical, installation, automation, and constructional steel sectors. They will have planning and project management skills involving working with subcontractors, and purchasing for items that are fabricated in-house before being transported to site for installation.
A description is given below and while terms are negotiable a salary in the region of 50-60K per annum is expected with a comprehensive benefits package – including the possibility of a company car (TBC). Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects within the mechanical, installation, automation, and constructional steel sectors. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to lead projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish.
Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones.
Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to define project requirements and deliverables.
Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet objectives.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders.
Manage project budgets and resource allocation.
Lead project team meetings and provide clear direction to team members.
Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in mechanical, installation, automation, or constructional steel work.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
PMP or similar certification is a plus.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationwide as needed.
