Document Controller – 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Location: Surrey (Office-Based, 5 Days per Week)

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract

Rate: £32 per hour PAYE (excluding holidays)

Start Date: Immediate

Our client is seeking an experienced Document Controller to support a major project. The role involves managing the execution of the document management plan and ensuring the delivery of documentation and information management services to project and contractual standards.

Candidates with client-side experience and prior work on Aramco projects are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and execute the Document Management strategy and plan in line with project goals and scope.
  • Manage document control deliverables to meet contract, schedule, and quality targets.
  • Oversee engineering and supplier document distribution processes.
  • Liaise with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to resolve documentation and data issues.
  • Define and produce project documentation reports and statistics.
  • Ensure effective use and maintenance of systems (e.g., IPMS, Documentum, SharePoint).
  • Coordinate across a global document management team.
  • Support the Master Document Register, Distribution Matrix, and Supplier SDRL/SDLs.
  • Operate the Document Request for Release process.
  • Contribute to the training and development of document management personnel.

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 6–10 years of experience in document management, with at least 5 years at supervisory level.
  • Proficient in EDMS and document imaging technologies (Documentum/IPMS preferred).
  • Experience with SharePoint and understanding of Information Management philosophies.
  • Knowledge of process plant documentation and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to develop procedures and manage documentation work processes.
