Principal Electrical Engineer – LNG FEED Project (12-Month Contract, Inside IR35)

Location: Surrey (Office-Based, 5 Days Per Week)

Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Start Date: Immediate. Applicants will require existing and current eligibility to work in the UK.

Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to support an LNG FEED Project, working within the client’s team to develop electrical system designs for high-voltage (up to 132kV) applications. Candidates must have previous Aramco project experience and a strong background in gas processing or LNG projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for voltages up to 132kV, including overhead lines and reactive power compensation.
  • Develop electrical designs for 132kV distribution systems, ensuring compliance with Aramco Standards and Grid Code requirements.
  • Interface with grid companies to ensure proper integration of electrical distribution systems.
  • Define protection requirements for high-voltage networks.
  • Design and implement brownfield modifications within existing infrastructure.
  • Work within conceptual, pre-FEED, study, and FEED phases to develop robust electrical engineering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 12+ years’ experience in electrical engineering, gained from a consultant engineering company, machinery manufacturer, or end-user company.
  • Strong background in gas processing and LNG.
  • Extensive experience in designing high-voltage (up to 132kV) electrical systems.
  • Expertise in overhead lines, reactive power compensation, and electrical distribution networks.
  • Familiarity with Aramco Standards and Grid Code requirements.
  • Strong understanding of protection requirements for electrical systems.
  • Experience in brownfield modifications and integrating electrical designs into existing infrastructure.
