Description

We are looking to support our client based in Alloa – with a requirement for a Mechanical QC Inspector – to work on site night shifts on a short term contract beginning in January 2025 and running until late April. This will be working 5 nights per week Monday-Friday and a total of 50 hours per week – although a 6th night on Saturdays may also be requested from time to time. As a UK temporary contract role applicants MUST possess existing eligibility to work in country via valid work permit or residency.

 The client works strictly inside IR35 and so candidates will need to work via an approved umbrella solution or our agency’s weekly PAYE payroll. Daily rate expectations will need to be provided to cover this and also including a candidates outgoing expenses as accommodation in the area is not provided. We are happy to assist applicants with this including estimated net outcomes based on expectations provided.

Job Description

QC inspector, working in night shifts for inspection of site mechanical and piping works

The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience within inspections at sites, preferably with well-known EPC companies. Gas plant background preferred.

The candidate shall be inspecting site mechanical works, including welding, final inspections, reviewing reports, reviewing test packs, witness various tests, including pressure leak testing.

The night shift inspector shall have to handover to the regular day-shift resident inspector, entire work of the night shift, conveying clearly, any gaps/punch-points/NCRs that require addressal.

  1. Ability to read isometric and P&ID drawings,
  2. Witness /monitor cleanliness inspections as per Cleanliness Specification.

Monitor all shift activities including weld fit ups and visual Inspections. (cswip 3.1 minimum).

  1. Test pack reviews ensuring documentation is completed as per agreed Pressure testing ITP,
  2. Witness Pressure testing.
  3. Complete shift report/handover
