We are currently looking for a Generator Technician with either or Mechanical or Electrical bias to support our client’s operations based in Great Yarmouth. This will be an initial 3-month contract role with the goal of being temp to perm, transitioning to a permanent contract upon completion if agreeable to both parties. Standard working hours apply Monday to Friday. Onshore hourly rate is £17.50, offshore daily rate of £250. (PAYE as this is inside IR35).
Upon moving to a permanent placement, the offshore work will be paid at a combined £250 per day + £17.50 per hour.
Generator Technician - Job Description:
The Generator Technician will take responsibility for supporting and servicing all products and clients for our Portable Power business within Europe. Your existing knowledge within electrical servicing of diesel driven generators and ancillary equipment will be critical to your success in this role.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Based at Great Yarmouth workshop, with travel to offshore/onshore sites at short notice when required
- Undertake operations of rental/sale packages in line with company procedures, including but not limited to:
o Scheduled maintenance
o Repairs
o Enhancements/Refurbishment
o P&ID walk downs
o Electrical completion checks
o Factory acceptance tests
o Function/loop checks
o Instrument checks
o Site acceptance tests
- Liaise with Workshop Supervisor, Project teams, Management, Clients and Vendors relating to their operational activities
- Prepare, review and fulfil work orders required for these operational activities
- Under management direction, provide after sales services including inspections, spares, advice/recommendations, liaising with engineering departments as necessary
- Participate in out of hours on-call rota, providing industry leading service support
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline
- City & Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition (desirable)
- City & Guilds HV Switching & System Control 0672 (desirable)
- COMPEX (desirable)
- Offshore cert (desirable)
Generator Technician - EXPERIENCE:
- Electrical knowledge within installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance environments include offshore (essential)
- Interpretation and marking up of engineering drawings (essential)
- Deep Sea control systems (desirable)
- PLC programming skills (desirable)
- Cummins, Iveco, Perkins engine experience

- Knowledge of industry standards (essential)
