Position: Mechanical Fitter (Assembly)

Location: Ellesmere Port

Salary: £41K – £47K

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:00am to 16:00pm
  • Friday: 07:10am to 12:00pm

 

We are currently seeking motivated and skilled individual to join our client’s team as Assembly and Installation Technician. You will report to the Assembly and Installation Manager and will operate onsite in Chester. If you have experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and safety, we want to hear from you!

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform complex and advanced assembly of products according to established specifications and instructions.
  • Conduct high-precision calibration and advanced adjustments using testing instruments such as torque wrenches and digital gauges.
  • Monitor the functioning of all equipment and tooling, promptly reporting any problems or deviations.
  • Maintain and update assembly results related to various tests and inspection procedures conducted.
  • Carry out pre-use checks of tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Accurately record daily production data into computer systems.
  • Work towards achieving weekly production targets effectively.
  • Adhere to 5S standards, promoting a safe and organized workspace.
  • Uphold a high level of safety, security, and quality in all tasks.
  • Work in contamination and radiation-controlled areas as required.
  • Demonstrate good timekeeping and attendance, with flexibility required to meet customer needs.
  • Be prepared to travel to one of our overseas sites for training or work activities as necessary.
  • Undertake additional duties as needed without altering the nature or level of responsibility.

 

Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Good secondary education to at least GCSE/A-level standard.
  • Ideally, previous experience working in an assembly and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong manual dexterity, with the ability to follow work instructions and procedures, and carry out repetitive processes with zero defects.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A flexible, reliable ‘can do’ approach.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for working in a team environment.
  • A Forklift Truck or Pedestrian Truck Licence is desirable.
  • DV security clearance is required to undertake the role.
