DATS Engineering is seeking on behalf of a prominent client, a motivated and experienced Health, Safety & Environmental Officer (SHE) to join their team near Ellesmere Port. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic individual to drive the delivery of SHE activities, while also supporting sustainability and communication initiatives.

- Estimated Salary: Around £50K plus benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement SHE management processes and procedures.
- Coordinate and liaise on Group SHE initiatives.
- Develop and deliver the annual SHE strategic plan.
- Prepare and present SHE updates to management teams.
- Review and maintain Safety Instructions, Safety Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments.
- Approve Contractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Manage and monitor Dosimetry and Radiation requirements.
- Ensure effective reporting and investigation of SHE incidents, with lessons learned being adopted and shared.
- Maintain compliance with legislative and regulatory licenses.
- Provide safety training and inductions.
- Coordinate quarterly SHE Review Committee (SHERC) meetings.
- Oversee the Safety Stop of Work event and promote the 5S methodology.
- Manage the SHE intranet pages and update relevant systems, including TopDesk.
- Coordinate various SHE and FM activities including testing, building logbooks, and DSE assessments.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium-sized company.
- A good secondary education, with A-Level qualifications.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent Safety qualification.
- Experience working within a regulated safety management system.
- A strong advocate for sustainability and the environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems.
- Strong project management, planning, and organisational skills.
- Confident in identifying and implementing change, with a forward-thinking approach.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Security Clearance:
Please note that DV security clearance is required for this role. Candidates must hold a UK passport and be prepared for a clearance process that can take 6-9 months.
