Job Title: Production Operator

Location: Pemberton

Hours: Monday – Friday, 6am – 4pm (50 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £12.50 /hr for 50 hours, with a premium rate of £16.63 per hour for any additional hours.

Holiday Entitlement: 33 days (including bank holidays)

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Production Operator to join our client’s team in Pemberton. This is a permanent position with a work schedule of Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm, totalling 50 hours per week. As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in their production process, ensuring the efficient and safe manufacture of our products.

In addition to a competitive salary of £12.50 per hour for the first 50 hours, they offer a premium rate of £16.63 per hour for any additional hours worked. You will also enjoy a generous holiday entitlement of 33 days, which includes bank holidays.

Their benefits package includes a company pension scheme, with the company contributing 3% and the employee contributing 5%. Furthermore, after successfully completing a 6-month probationary period, you will be eligible for BUPA healthcare coverage, providing you with additional peace of mind.

 

Job Purpose:

As a Production Process Operator, you will be at the heart of our batch manufacturing process. Your responsibilities will include retrieving, weighing, and mixing/reacting chemical ingredients, monitoring equipment during the chemical process, and recording essential information to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures in all process and operational activities.
  • Manufacture products as per formulation batch sheets and specifications, reporting any deviations immediately.
  • Accurately add or adjust processes under the guidance of Laboratory Staff.
  • Complete all necessary documentation promptly and accurately.
  • Report any incidents immediately using the appropriate systems.
  • Respond to corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
  • Operate Forklift Truck as required (subject to licence).
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as requested by Company Directors and Management.
  • Monitor raw material requirements and ensure finished products are ready for warehouse movement.
  • Participate in design and hazard reviews as required.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace.

 

Skills / Knowledge / Experience:

  • Experience in a chemical/process industry (Essential)
  • Understanding of chemical processes (Essential)
  • Ability to follow Manufacturing Instructions (Essential)
  • Forklift Truck experience (Desirable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
  • Ability to work with team members to improve processes and product quality (Essential)
  • Experience in troubleshooting production equipment and processes (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of sampling and product testing (Desirable)

 

Qualifications:

  • Forklift truck licence (Desirable)
