R&D Engineer

DATS are looking for an experienced R&D Engineer. Our client is a major blue chip company who manufacture globally including North Wales.They have a need for an R & D Engineer to join a busy team of 12/13 people. The role has come about due to a backload of work in the support of existing historical products.

What skills and experience do you need?

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science and/or Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience working within the Medical Devices or equivalent regulated industry
  • Experience in laboratory environments, test methods development, validation, analysis, statistics, design of experiments, and various analytical measurement techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience of on-time delivery of complex technical projects and problem solving activities
  • Detailed knowledge of Design Control Frameworks in accordance with EU ISO 13485 & US 21CFR820 Quality Systems for Medical Devices
  • Highly structured, ability to prioritise and progress lots of tasks in parallel
  • Proven scientific and creative approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) is essential.

Desirable

  • Experience of product design (high level and detailed), detailed design, quality function deployment, design for manufacture, design for assembly and/or value proposition design.
  • Experience of Process Validation activities (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ activities) and Change Control
