Part-Time Control System Engineer – FPSO FEED Project (2–3 Month Contract, Outside IR35)
Location: Surrey (3 Days Per Week, Office-Based Preferred with Some Remote Flexibility)

Rate: Circa £55.00 per hour Ltd Co

Our client is seeking a Part-Time Control System Engineer to support a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase for an FPSO project. This role is offered for an initial 2–3 month period, with an expected commitment of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop preliminary and final stage Instrumentation & Control (I&C) design deliverables including P&IDs, Instrument Lists, and Instrument Philosophy.
- Support the design of DCS, PLC, and SCADA-based process control systems.
- Collaborate with client counterparts on control system concepts, architectures, and platform selection.
- Prepare and manage I/O lists, Instrumentation lists, and specifications of instrumentation and control elements.
- Support in control system vendor selection and EPC contract finalisation.
- Participate in SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP workshops.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in control systems engineering, particularly in the FEED phase of offshore or FPSO projects.
- Strong knowledge of process control system design and associated deliverables.
- Familiarity with DCS, PLC, SCADA systems, and automation integration.
- Experience working with instrumentation lists and specifications.
- Ability to participate effectively in HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA reviews.
- Availability for three days per week, ideally office-based in Surrey, with some flexibility for remote work.
