About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to support our client's Engineering & Design Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of documentation and effective administration within the team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality engineering design services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project data and documentation in line with document control processes.
  • Receive and issue project documents and drawings using client document control systems (e.g. 4Projects, SharePoint).
  • Maintain compliance with the company’s integrated management system (ISO 9001 & ISO 14001).
  • Administer electronic filing systems.
  • Undertake general office administrative duties.
  • Support project handover including compilation of Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
  • Provide day-to-day support to engineers and designers.
  • Liaise with design subcontractors, including 3D site surveys.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in mentoring and training team members where required.

Candidate Requirements

  • A technical engineering background with relevant industry project experience.
  • Higher education in a technical or engineering-related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK construction industry and M&E design practices (especially E&I).
  • Experience using document control systems and collaborative platforms.
  • Familiarity with the structure and requirements of O&M manuals is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the design process and associated documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Understanding of data and administrative management practices.

Desirable

  • Experience with collaborative software used in project office environments.
  • Familiarity with proprietary document control platforms.
