Job Title: Shipping Co-ordinator
Location: Kintore
Contract: 24 Months
Pay Rate: £15.30 - £16.60 per hour
Working Hours: Mon–Thurs 08:00–16:30, Fri 08:00–15:15 (flexible start/finish times available)
Work Schedule: Preferably office-based 5 days/week, but with flexibility

Role Overview:
As a Shipping Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and timely shipment of products and materials. You’ll be the vital link between departments, clients, freight forwarders, and customs, making sure that every shipment meets cost, schedule, compliance, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise the shipment of import and export orders: obtaining quotes from freight agents, preparing all relevant documentation, liaising with other departments to obtain information as required.
- Communicate with customers and coordinate collections according to FCA Incoterms.
- Complete accurate documentation such as commercial invoices and shipping orders in line with regulations according to the country of destination
- Ensure all movements of goods, imports & exports are in compliance with HMRC & the company’s policy
- Strictly adhere to International Trade Compliance procedures & regulations
- Liaise with Brokerage team to ensure appropriate customs regime is used for import shipments, ensuring compliance and information accuracy in every step
- Coordinate with Sales/Production/Procurement Departments and Warehouse personnel to plan and co-ordinate transportation of material and equipment and manage timely flow of customer orders and with focus on accuracy, efficiency, and time management
- Address order flow or shipping delays and quality control issues, such as damaged or improperly packed goods
- Ensuring shipping registers are up to date with accurate information, all documents are filed and archived appropriately
- Updating production schedules & keeping production managers up to date on all collections and deliveries
- Assist in preparation of audits/inspections both internal and by external bodies.
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
Required Skills & Experience:
Qualifications:
HND in a relevant business subject (essential)
CILT or Dangerous Goods certification (desirable)
Experience:
Strong knowledge of import/export and customs procedures
Experience in international shipping by sea, air, and road
Familiarity with Incoterms 2020 and required shipment documentation (e.g. BOL, AWB, MRN)
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Organised and detail-oriented
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Strong customer focus and ability to work collaboratively
