Control System Engineer – Detailed Design Project (8-Month Contract, Outside IR35)
Location: Surrey (Office-Based, 5 Days Per Week, Hybrid Possible with Two Days Remote)

Rate: Circa £55.00 per hour Ltd Co

Our client is seeking an experienced Control System Engineer to support a detailed design project. The role involves working on the detailed engineering phase, focusing on process control systems based on DCS, ESD, and FGS systems. Experience with Middle Eastern projects and Brownfield onshore projects is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of I&C design deliverables, including P&IDs, Instrument Lists, Instrument Specifications, and Instrument Data Sheets. Work on the detailed engineering phase, particularly handling packages and control systems integration. Assist in designing process control systems using DCS, PLC, and SCADA technologies. Collaborate with client counterparts and vendors for system interfacing and integrating new packages. Support risk assessments such as SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP. Prepare technical requisitions and conduct bid evaluations. Assist in developing Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) and demonstrate working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC 61511. Perform automation-related tasks, including the creation of I/O lists, instrumentation lists, and control element specifications. Interface with electrical systems and MCC. Engage in multi-center project execution.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience in the detailed engineering phase of projects, focusing on process control systems. Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems. Familiarity with IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 standards. Experience in Brownfield onshore projects. Experience working on Middle Eastern projects is preferred. Proficiency in risk assessment processes such as SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP. Experience in multi-center project coordination. Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and multi-disciplinary teams.
