Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients across various sectors in the UK and internationally, providing financial assistance.
  • Manage and process weekly payroll.
  • Issue weekly invoices to all customers.
  • Handle monthly payments of all supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and supplier accounts using OPERA accounting software and Excel.
  • Prepare and complete month-end accounts for the sales and purchase ledger.
  • Calculate and prepare tax returns, including VAT and corporation tax, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for the year-end audit and liaise with auditors.
  • Review and enhance financial processes, suggesting improvements as needed.

Essential Requirements:

  • A full AAT qualification is highly preferred.
  • Candidates who are partially AAT qualified will be considered, but they must be capable of working independently in key financial areas. This includes minimal need for additional training or supervision in tasks such as year-end accounts and audit preparation, managing weekly payroll, and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in explaining financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, delivering accurate and timely information.
  • Hands-on approach, with the ability to take sole responsibility for transaction processing and accounting.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
