Production Manager
Location: Standish
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week, flexibility required)
Contract: Permanent
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our client’s manufacturing plant in Standish. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality production of products. You will be responsible for the Production Supervisor and production personnel across multi shift system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily running of the plant alongside the Operations Manager.
- Generate monthly reports detailing manufacturing performance for the senior leadership team.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are strictly followed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production performance.
- Manage Production Supervisors, providing guidance and support.
- Monitor and ensure the achievement of production plans, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.
- Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Investigate and implement corrective and preventative actions in response to quality issues.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the Operations Manager or Directors.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
Proven experience in a Production Management role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports.
Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing methodologies.
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
Desirable:
Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (preferred).
Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry.
Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001.
