Automation Engineer - (12-Month Contract, Outside IR35)

Location: Surrey (Minimum 4 Days On-Site)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (Outside IR35, Subject to Qdos Assessment)
Rate: £60.00 per hour Ltd Co

Our client is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in Aramco projects, particularly in handling the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase. This role involves working on complex control system designs and ensuring compliance with Aramco standards while collaborating with multiple project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop specifications for control systems in accordance with Aramco standards.
  • Contribute to the development of control system design deliverables, including support for P&IDs and Instrument Lists.
  • Work closely with client counterparts and vendors to define control system requirements and interfaces.
  • Support risk assessments such as SIL, LOPA, and HAZOP.
  • Prepare ICSS technical requisitions and conduct bid evaluations.
  • Assist in developing Process Control Narratives and Cause and Effect Diagrams.
  • Apply expertise in IEC 61508 & IEC 61511.
  • Perform automation-related functions, including I/O list development and electrical system interfaces.
  • Work on Brownfield onshore projects, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Process Design and Project Teams for successful project execution.
  • Operate within multi-centre project environments, ensuring coordination across different locations.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Aramco projects, specifically in the FEED phase.
  • Strong knowledge of automation, instrumentation, and control systems design.
  • Proven expertise in IEC 61508 & IEC 61511 standards.
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with control system architecture, P&IDs, and I/O development.
  • Previous Brownfield onshore project experience is preferred.
  • Must be available for a minimum of four days per week on-site.
