DATS Recruitment is currently seeking a Mechanical & Process Engineer to join a dynamic Technical Services team in Capenhurst. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support process design and analysis deliverables for key projects and work packages, ensuring compliance with functional requirements and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all duties adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental requirements. Produce high-quality technical reports and specifications related to UF₆ process system equipment performance and definition. Provide technical solutions to resolve design challenges, including substantiation, design basis, and underpinning calculations. Communicate and promote design solutions to internal and external stakeholders. Analyse plant processes, commissioning, and test data to establish validated performance models. Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of UF₆ system designs and plant equipment performance. Review Boolean Logic Specifications or equivalent in relation to process system design requirements. Offer technical support in design reviews, ISA/HAZOP meetings, and documentation completion. Support Cascade Development, including training in the use of modelling tools. Develop project proposals, including schedules and cost forecasts. Manage project deliverables and provide clear status reports to stakeholders. Travel to European suppliers and customer sites as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Experience within the nuclear industry is preferred, but experience in any large process industry will be considered. Knowledge of process modelling and simulation tools (e.g., Matlab, Simulink). Strong background in Process or Chemical Engineering design. Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of computer literacy. Ability to speak French or German is advantageous but not essential.
