CAD Technician (Contract)

Duration: 3–6 months
Rate: £25–30/hr Ltd
About the Role:
We’re looking for a talented CAD Technician to join our client's Engineering & Design team on a contract basis. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality digital engineering services, supporting various projects with your expertise in AutoCAD and engineering design.
What You’ll Be Doing as a CAD Technician:
- Producing precise 2D CAD deliverables, including loop diagrams and block cable diagrams.
- Updating P&ID drawings in AutoCAD based on redline mark-ups.
- Supporting project handovers with documentation like Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
- Mentoring and training junior team members to build team capability.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualifications: ONC in a technical engineering-related subject or substantial relevant experience.
- Skills & Experience:
- Strong AutoCAD 2D skills.
- Proven experience in UK construction projects, especially in M&E design with a focus on instrumentation.
- Understanding of design processes, associated documentation, and project lifecycle.
- Experience working in Hazardous Areas (ATEX) – desirable but not essential.
- Collaborative mindset and a knack for prioritising tasks effectively.
You’ll work alongside expert Instrument Engineer and Designers, gaining exposure to a variety of challenging projects while contributing to high-impact work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.
