Job Title: Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician
Location: Standish Site
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (8am – 4.30pm)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client based in Standish initially on a contract basis with possibility to move on to a permanent staff role. Pay rate will be £20.19 per hour with OT pay. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, continuous operation of our plant by swiftly addressing equipment failures and implementing an effective preventative maintenance program.

This position requires a proactive individual with a practical, hands-on approach who thrives in a dynamic environment. You will also provide support to the Lamberhead manufacturing site in Pemberton as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive mechanical and electrical maintenance services for the company’s process plant and designated areas.

  • Maintain and repair equipment such as steam boilers, pumps, gearboxes, agitators, and other plant machinery.

  • Install and maintain chemical plant equipment, valves, and pressure relief valves under management of change.

  • Perform general building and electrical maintenance repairs.

  • Address unplanned equipment breakdowns promptly and safely.

  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to ensure efficient scheduling of shutdowns and adherence to safe working procedures.

  • Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns using appropriate reporting systems.

  • Execute corrective and preventive actions as required.

  • Take on additional duties as directed by the Directors.

What We Are Looking For

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing and maintaining PPE.

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Expertise in troubleshooting, fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive maintenance.

  • Experience with electrical infrastructure systems (single and three-phase).

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in an ATEX chemical/process industry or on a COMAH site.

  • Knowledge of chemical processes.

  • Instrumentation experience.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Electrical Qualification.

  • Apprenticeship Qualified.

  • Experience in a similar role.

  • ONC or equivalent in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (C&G L3, etc.).

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (C&G 2382).

  • Test and Inspect 2391.

  • CompEx Certification (EX01-04).

  • Coded Welding.
