EICA Project Engineer – Contract


A leading developer and producer of highly engineered magnesium and zirconium materials, with approximately 300 employees across the UK and US, is seeking an EICA Project Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract basis. The role is also available on a permanent basis for interested candidates. Applicants must possess existing eligibility to work in the UK via current work permit or residency. 

The Role – EICA Project Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will support the Control & Instrumentation Engineer and the Projects Team in delivering projects across the site, contributing to the drive for digitalisation.

You will help ensure that new and existing process equipment is effectively controlled to both satisfy the requirements of the internal customer and safeguard a future-proofed solution. You will also be responsible for the technical and cost aspects of project work, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including health, safety, and environmental requirements. Projects will be delivered through the effective management of external contractors or maintenance team members as appropriate.

What you’ll need to bring to this EICA Project Engineer role:

  • Proven experience in a control and automation role within a heavy plant industry
  • Experience with a range of industrial instrumentation
  • HNC in Electrical/Control Engineering
  • PLC Programming Course
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
  • Ability to use initiative, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure
  • Self-motivated, methodical, and detail-oriented
