Description

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge? DATS Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading engineering company. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join the project team in Grangemouth, handling the commercial aspects of a range of projects. This role is a permanent / full time position with a competitive salary.

Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral part of the team, responsible for ensuring the successful commercial delivery of multiple projects ranging in size from £5k to £10M. You will manage the financial and contractual performance of the projects, ensuring that the expected margins are delivered while maintaining high standards of service.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts for projects.
  • Submit and manage contractual notices using NEC4 contract protocols.
  • Prepare and evaluate subcontract payment certificates and compensation event quotations.
  • Conduct regular cost value reconciliations and ensure alignment of costs with project margins.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and ensure they are within tender allowances.
  • Work closely with Key Account Managers and Project Managers to ensure effective commercial delivery.
  • Risk management and continuous monitoring of subcontract costs, prime costs, and project budgets.
  • Regular reporting on project progress and any risks or cost overruns.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a willingness to participate in annual performance reviews and commit to internal and external training courses to support both personal and professional development.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Familiarity with NEC4 Contracts.
  • Strong commercial and risk management experience.
  • Full driving licence required.
