We’re currently supporting our client with a requirement for a Electrical Project Manager (Marine) to join their Southampton division, overseeing the delivery of power systems projects to provide world-class technical solutions, underpinned by an exceptional standard of service.

Your role as a Electrical Project Manager:
As a Project Manager specialising in the Marine sector, you’ll oversee power systems projects, ensuring top-notch technical solutions and service. Leveraging your maritime industry expertise, you’ll drive project success by coordinating internal departments and third-party suppliers to meet deadlines, budgets, and industry standards. With a track record in electro-technical projects, including modifications, upgrades, and repairs, you’ll craft tailored solutions for cabling, machinery, and associated equipment, with knowledge of circuit breakers.
You’ll embody the company brand, fostering a positive work environment, leading a team of engineers, and maintaining transparent communication with clients and colleagues. Your focus on nurturing client relationships and driving revenue will be key performance metrics, discussed in regular meetings to highlight successes and address challenges.
Electrical Project Manager responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects with top-down oversight, ensuring adherence to industry standards for scope, schedule, and budget
- Define project guidelines, allocate tasks, and monitor progress
- Maintain project documentation and financial records
- Attend meetings to enforce deadlines and requirements
- Uphold safety and integrity values
- Collaborate with Operations Manager and Service Department
- Coordinate with engineers for timely reporting
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures and company policies
- Serve as primary contact for clients, managing project acceptance and addressing issues
- Foster relationships with stakeholders
- Coordinate personnel and communicate effectively to drive efficiency improvements
- Oversee resource acquisition and negotiate agreements with vendors
- Drive revenue generation and assess project profitability for ongoing improvements.
Electrical Project Manager skills:

Minimum of five years’ experience of a similar position within the Marine industry

Proficient in MS Office and Outlook

Willing to travel to attend vessel surveys / oversee site work

Familiarity with maritime rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards including working with Class

Electrical Project Manager Experience:

Reading + interpreting schematics and GAs

Developing quotations and commercial documents

HV/ LV power distribution systems including the design of switchgear, transformers, protection, and associated equipment

Rotating machinery

Cabling design / repairs + integration with on board power management systems

Modbus and TCP/IP communications protocols, and RS-485 and Ethernet interfaces

Application of power circuit monitoring equipment

Application of protective relaying, including over/under voltage, phase loss, frequency, G99, and sync check

Application of Automatic Changeover Circuits for Circuit Breakers (ACB’s, MCCB’s)
