Introduction:

You will work in our market which is predominantly focused on delivering engineering and waste management projects for clients within the Nuclear Decommissioning sector, with some projects focused on other stages of the nuclear lifecycle. We tackle projects that have varied engineering, nuclear and safety challenges, which requires proactive and mixed-skill delivery teams working collaboratively to deliver a high-quality solution. We continually invest in our people, technology, working facilities and supporting resources to ensure that we strengthen and grow our current capabilities as well as develop new capabilities. This allows us to deliver projects using industry directing and innovative techniques, such as utilising our growing technology solutions and robotics capabilities and showing that our solutions work through active demonstrators.

The Role

You will join an existing civil/structural team and be responsible for the delivery of complex design packages for key nuclear clients. You will be required to have a role in overseeing and developing current engineers and integrating with the wider disciplines within the engineering group.

The role is specific to taking a senior role on projects or be able to demonstrate that you have strong capabilities in becoming a civil / structural lead that can contribute to multi-disciplinary design delivery, with minimal oversight.

The Individual

Ability to manage and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities. Self-motivated and able to work both freely as well as within a larger multi-discipline team.

Excellent team player, able to collaborate effectively with market colleagues, other wider-business colleagues, and the management team.

You should have experience and a level of expertise in engineering design and substantiation, including first principles analysis, with a good knowledge of UK and International design codes and industry regulations. A preference would be to have previous experience in the nuclear sector, although this is not a requirement.

Candidates to be an Incorporated Engineer or working towards chartership with a recognised institution such as The Institution of Civil Engineers and / or The Institution of Structural Engineers and hold a minimum engineering degree qualification (accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers, or other recognised body).

How will you contribute to the team?

An innovator – You will encourage people to experiment, produce new ideas and examine others to think differently. You’ll create space for people to think about potential new innovative approaches, providing an opportunity for growth.

An Improver - You spend time on making the processes, methods and toolsets more efficient, optimising your resources to be able to deliver better.
