Description

We are currently looking to support our client in the oil and gas sector with a requirement for a Structural Package Engineer working on an offshore project. This will be to start as soon as possible on a 9 month contract basis with the possibility for further extensions.

This will be based out of a Surrey office but with a hybrid working arrangement in place allowing 2 days working from home and 3 days in the office. Limited Company operators will be able to operate outside of IR35 – subject to a confirmation assessment.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing the project PSR (Project Status Report) and package documentation for long lead items particularly castings.

• Producing specifications and procurement documents for bulk structural materials

• Writing and issuing of specifications for castings

• Writing procurement documentation to company standards

• Supporting procurement including preparation of enquiry and purchase order documentation, technical bid evaluations, package management, vendor document reviews, vendor visits and inspection at factory acceptance tests.

• Interfacing with team of structural engineers

• Interfacing with client installation representative and installation contractors

• Supporting the installation of jackets & topsides

 

REQUIREMENTS:

•  Degree in Engineering.

•  Knowledge related to jacket & topside lifted installations

• Knowledge of structural steel materials and relevant  ISO materials standards

•  Minimum of 10 years in a comparable environment for Oil and Gas Offshore projects

•  Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment

•  Offshore experience desirable

• Some knowledge of major foundries worldwide is desirable but not essential
