What does the job involve?

Working with the Operations units, you will identify and define project requirements and organise the successful delivery of projects to meet business needs globally across a particular process area. You will be required to maintain close contacts with the business and functional units to identify:

  • Process engineering requirements taking into consideration production, marketing and product development needs and including any activities carried out off-site.
  • Optimum resource allocation to meet specific objectives arising from the agreed project portfolio.
  • Future resource needs.

In addition as the Process Engineer you will:

  • Develop and maintain a centre of expertise in the company for the relevant manufacturing technology, and acquire a fundamental understanding of key processes.
  • Maintain an appropriate awareness of projects/issues at all relevant manufacturing units and external developments.
  • Identify areas where there are shared goals/synergies and exploit through Process Engineering Group co-ordination.
  • Manage and implement specific projects to deliver the desired output in a timely, cost-effective manner and in compliance with relevant company standards.
  • Monitor and control the section expenditure
  • Provide technical support to businesses, production, maintenance, projects, marketing, and product development in areas of manufacturing technology.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Minimum qualification of a BSc in Chemical Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant Manufacturing experience
  • Previous experience within a process engineering function
  • Strong experience of the specific process technology area covered
  • Knowledge and understanding of product – process interactions is vital
  • High level of communications skills
  • Ability to accumulate and interpret technical and operational data and information
