Mechanical Technician

We are looking for Mechanical Technician to join a client of ours in Merseyside.  This role is day shift working but you must be prepared to work shifts, work overtime and respond to call outs as required in line with the remit of the post.

What does the job involve?

As the Mechanical Technician, you will ensure machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit to purpose. Your role will be performed under varied temperatures, in a busy industrial site and will require you to:

  • Actively promote safe working practices
  • Actively promote and implement continuous improvements.
  • Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and pre-determined specifications
  • Fault finding and testing
  • Work without a detailed specification to determine the cause of the fault and undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • NVQ Level 3 – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 + years’ experience in similar industry
  • MS Office proficient
  • AutoCAD experience would be desirable
  • Experience of a CMMS system
  • RCA trained
  • Manual Handling is expected but training will be provided
  • IOSH Working Safely or equivalent
  • Confined Space Trained desirable but training can be provided
  • Forklift/MEWP license desirable but training can be provided
