We are looking for an E&I Support Engineer to join one of our clients based in the Cheshire area, on a contract basis.

What does the job involve?

As the Electrical and Instrumentation support Engineer you will provide engineering assistance and technical support across the site and provide support for projects, modifications and shutdown maintenance activities.

You will be responsible for assisting the E&I Engineer in the execution of their duties, including:

  • Providing first line engineering support to E&I maintenance department.
  • Support the Cheshire Site E&I Engineer in the execution of E&I Projects and Modifications across the site to time and budget constraints.
  • Support the execution of E&I aspects of multi-disciplinary projects managed by others.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant Instrument/ Electrical/ Control Engineering discipline.
  • Ideally, a time served Instrument / Electrical Craftsman.
  • Has experience working in Chemical/Oil & Gas process plants.
  • An experienced and competent E&I practitioner, working at or above Supervisor level.

In addition, you will have relevant knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Pressure, level, flow and temperature sensors and instrumentation.Control valve commissioning, operation and maintenance.
  • Control valve commissioning, operation and maintenance.
  • Emerson DeltaV DCS systems.
  • Loop testing, calibration and commissioning.
  • Hazardous Area installations and inspections (COMPEX).
  • 415V motors and motor starter and control centres.
  • Process analytical systems i.e. pH, conductivity, gas analysers.
