E&I Maintenance Technician

DATS are looking for an E&I Maintenance Technician to join one of our clients in West Yorkshire. Working closely with the Senior Electrical Engineer on site, you will be responsible for all aspects of reactive and proactive maintenance work on site.

What does the job involve?

As the E&I Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that the risk associated with maintenance activities are identified and a suitable safe system of work is defined. In addition you will:

  • Assist in the management of preventative maintenance management system
    Repair service for failed or faulty equipment on site
  • Fulfil preventative maintenance tasks and plant inspections
  • Manage small engineering improvement projects on site
  • Ensure that plant instruments are correctly specified and are maintained and calibrated to minimise process errors
  • Assist in the monitoring and supervision of engineering contractors to ensure they work safely.
  • Comply with all pertinent safety policies, rules and regulations.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Time served Electrician with multi-skilled background
  • 2+ years relevant experience in a similar environment
  • Qualification to HNC level or equivalent
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Familiar with 415, 240, 110, 24-volt application
  • City and Guilds BS 7671 IEE Wiring Regulations 17th edition
  • City and Guilds Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations
  • A good understanding of process control instrumentation
